LONG TERM...SAT THROUGH WED. NEARLY ZONAL FLOW ALOFT THROUGH THE WEEKEND WITH BACKING FLOW MONDAY AND TUESDAY AS A SHORTWAVE TRANSLATES FROM THE FOUR CORNERS REGION INTO THE SOUTHEAST. ZONAL FLOW RETURNS LATE WEDNESDAY AS THE SHORTWAVE PUSHES INTO THE WESTERN ATLANTIC. SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE WILL BE POSITIONED OVERHEAD FRIDAY NIGHT. THE HIGH WILL MOVE EAST OVER THE WEEKEND SETTING UP ONSHORE FLOW INCREASING LOW LEVEL MOISTURE AHEAD OF THE NEXT DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT THE GFS SHOWS CENTERED OVER THE ARKLATEX SUNDAY NIGHT. THE GFS SHOWS SHOWERS DEVELOPING ALONG THE GULF COAST INCLUDING THE LOCAL AREA SUNDAY. THE SURFACE LOW IS FORECAST TO LIFT INTO THE TENNESSEE VALLEY MONDAY DRAGGING A SOUTHWESTWARD EXTENDING COLD FRONT WITH IT. SCATTERED SHOWERS WILL SPREAD FROM WEST TO EAST ACROSS OUR ENTIRE CWA SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY WITH THE FRONT PUSHING THROUGH THE REGION MONDAY NIGHT/TUESDAY MORNING. A FEW SHOWERS WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE TUESDAY NIGHT ASSOCIATED WITH THE SHORTWAVE. A MUCH DRIER AIRMASS FILTERS IN ON WEDNESDAY. ANOTHER LIGHT FREEZE IS POSSIBLE SATURDAY MORNING WITH TEMPERATURES NEAR OR SLIGHTLY ABOVE SEASONAL LEVELS THEREAFTER.
