Long Term Discussion

LONG TERM (THURSDAY THROUGH NEXT MONDAY)... GENERALLY EXPECTING A QUIET WEATHER PERIOD THROUGH NEXT WEEKEND. TEMPERATURES STARTING OUT THE EXTENDED BELOW NORMAL AND TRANSITION TO NEAR NORMAL CONDITIONS BY THE END OF THE WEEK. EXTENDED PERIOD WILL BEGIN THURSDAY WITH AN AMPLIFIED UPPER LEVEL PATTERN WITH LONGWAVE TROUGHING ACROSS THE EASTERN THIRD OF THE CONUS. THIS PATTERN WILL DE-AMPLIFY DURING FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. AT THE SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE WILL BE IN CONTROL THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT KEEPING OUR WEATHER DRY. WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY NIGHT WILL STILL SUPPORT WIDESPREAD FREEZES WITH MOST LOCATION AWAY FROM THE IMMEDIATE COAST REACHING THE UPPER 20S TO NEAR 30 FOR LOW TEMPERATURES. DAYTIME TEMPS WILL BE MODERATING TOWARD THE END OF THE WEEK WITH 50S ON THURSDAY AND LOWER 60S BY FRIDAY. WEAK COLD FRONT IS PROGGED TO APPROACH FROM THE NORTH DURING SATURDAY...HOWEVER COLUMN IS STILL QUITE DRY AND WITH UPPER LEVEL SUPPORT GENERALLY LACKING...THIS FRONT MAY PRODUCE A FEW SPRINKLES AT BEST. MAIN THRUST OF ANY COLDER AIR BEHIND THIS FRONT SLIDES TO OUR NORTH AND WILL EXPECT TEMPERATURES TO REMAIN NEAR NORMAL FOR THE END OF THE WEEKEND WITH RAIN CHANCES STAYING LOW.
