Short Term Discussion

SHORT TERM (TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT)...WITH A SLIGHTLY COOLER DAY TODAY AND AN IDEAL LOCATION OF THE SFC RIDGE OVERHEAD TONIGHT PROVIDING NEAR CALM WINDS FOR SEVERAL HOURS...EXPECT AN EVEN COLDER NIGHT ACROSS THE INTERIOR THAN LAST NIGHT...WITH A FAIRLY WIDESPREAD LIGHT FREEZE ALONG WITH PLENTY OF FROST. ANOTHER MOSTLY SUNNY DAY IS ON TAP FOR THURSDAY...AND AFTER A COUPLE OF CONSECUTIVE COOL AFTERNOONS...HIGH TEMPS SHOULD FINALLY CLIMB A FEW DEGREES ABOVE CLIMO INTO THE UPPER 60S ACROSS MANY AREAS. LOW TEMPERATURES SHOULD RETURN TO NEAR CLIMO ON FRIDAY MORNING...BEFORE THE NEXT LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM APPROACHES FROM THE WEST. CONDITIONS SHOULD BE DRY FOR THE 1ST HALF OF FRIDAY BEFORE RAIN CHANCES BEGIN TO INCREASE FROM WEST TO EAST IN THE AFTERNOON. THE BULK OF THE PRECIPITATION IN THE FORM OF RAIN WITH ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IS STILL EXPECTED ON FRIDAY NIGHT...BUT STORM TOTAL QPF`S SHOULD STILL BE IN THE 1 TO 2 INCH RANGE UNLESS MORE GULF OF MEXICO MOISTURE IS ENTRAINED INTO THE SFC LOW FROM THE SUBTROPICAL JET.
