Short Term Discussion

INHERITING A HARD FREEZE WARNING ACROSS THE REGION...AND THIS CERTAINLY LOOKS GOOD. THE RIDGE IS IN A GREAT POSITION FOR RADIATIONAL COOLING ACROSS THE REGION WITH SURFACE WINDS ALREADY NEAR CALM AT MANY OBSERVATION SITES. THE ONLY ISSUE FOR TEMPERATURES TONIGHT ARE THE CLOUDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE WEAK MID LEVEL IMPULSE MOVING THROUGH CENTRAL ALABAMA. EXTRAPOLATION OF THE MOVEMENT OF THESE CLOUDS AND MODEL TIME HEIGHTS SHOW THAT THESE CLOUDS SHOULD EXIT THE REGION BETWEEN 06Z AND 09Z. THUS...WHILE THEY MAY TEMPORARILY SLOW THE COOLING OVERNIGHT...IT SHOULD CERTAINLY NOT BE ENOUGH TO KEEP MANY LOCATIONS FROM HAVING THEIR SECOND NIGHT IN A ROW OF TEMPERATURES IN THE TEENS BY DAYBREAK. WILL ONLY MAKE MINOR ADJUSTMENTS TO THE CURRENT MIN TEMP GRID AND OTHER INHERITED GRIDS AFTER THE 9 PM ET OBS.
