A stormy pattern will begin to set up over the nation this, the final week of December, and will last well into January. This will allow cold, snowy weather to abound for many.
Storm after storm will crash ashore in the Pacific Northwest. Each will drop snow over the mountains of the West, before emerging onto the Plains and heading towards the Eastern Seaboard, bringing more wintry weather.
This week will start with a system passing over the Northeast, which will spread accumulating snow from the Great Lakes through much of New England by tonight. Another system pressing into Texas Tuesday and traveling along the Gulf Coast through the middle of the week could even bring snow to some of the major East Coast cities by New Year's Day.
