SKIES WERE MOSTLY CLEAR MARRED ONLY BY THIN CIRRUS ACROSS MOST OF THE LOCAL AREA..EXCEPT FOR THICK CIRRUS ACROSS SE BIG BEND AND ADJACENT GEORGIA. INLAND TEMPS RANGED FROM MID 40S WEST OF...TO NEAR 40 EAST OF APALACHICOLA RIVER. WINDS WERE ALREADY CALM. THIS WILL BE THE LAST NIGHT OF FREEZING TEMPERATURES AND LOCAL AIRMASS ALREADY SHOWING SOME SIGNS OF AIRMASS MODIFICATION...RUNNING 2-5 DEGREES WARMER AND WETTER THAN SAME TIME YESTERDAY. AT UPPER LEVELS... LARGE SCALE CONUS PATTERN HIGHLIGHTED BY RIDGE OVER ERN PAC/ALASKA ...AND A TROUGH/CLOSED LOW PUSHING ONSHORE OVER THE NRN CA/PAC NW ACTING TO SHARPEN AN UPPER RIDGE OVER THE WESTERN THIRD OF THE CONUS. FURTHER EAST WE SEE A CLOSED LOW N OF LAKE SUPERIOR AND ANOTHER SPINNING OFF THE NEW ENGLAND COAST...WITH A TROUGH OVER THE CNTRL GULF OF MEX AND SHORTWAVE EXITING ERN MOST GULF OF MEX. SATELLITE SHOWS CIRRUS BEING PULLED UP FROM THE TROPICS AHEAD OF A TROUGH AND PROGRESSING ESE ACROSS LOCAL REGION. LOCAL AIRMASS REGION REMAINS BONE DRY AS REFLECTED IN 00Z REGIONAL RAOBS. I.E. TAE WITH 0.30 INCH PWAT. OVER THE NEXT 24-36 HRS...BUILDING ERN PAC RIDGE WILL AMPLIFY COASTAL TROUGH AND SPAWN DEVELOPMENT OF PRONOUNCED SHORTWAVE.
