Short Term Discussion

THE SURFACE LOW WILL AND UPPER TROUGH WILL BOTH LIFT RAPIDLY NEWD OVERNIGHT. SLIGHT TO LOW CHANCE RESIDUAL POPS WERE KEPT IN FOR THE ERN ZONES FOR THE EVENING HOURS. AFTER THAT...HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD SWD INTO THE SRN PLAINS BY SUN MORNING AND THEN EWD ALONG THE GULF COAST. THIS SCENARIO WILL GIVE US A DRY AND COOL WEEKEND. TEMPS ON SAT WILL PEAK IN THE MID 50S NW TO LOW 60S SE. IT WILL ALSO BE A BRISK DAY WITH NW WINDS GUSTING TO ABOUT 25 MPH. NRN ZONES WILL STILL HAVE A FAIR AMOUNT OF WRAP AROUND CLOUD COVER TO DEAL WITH AS WELL. FOR SAT NIGHT...COLD ADVECTION WILL BRING TEMPS DOWN INTO THE LOWER TO MID 30S. A FEW SPOTS OVER THE FAR NW ZONES IN SE AL AND ADJACENT SW GA COULD SEE A BRIEF FREEZE OF ABOUT AN HOUR DURATION. TEMPS WILL HOLD IN THE 50S ACROSS THE REGION ON SUN. BY 12Z MON... THE SURFACE HIGH WILL BE CENTERED NEAR MOB AND THIS SHOULD BE CLOSE ENOUGH FOR A GOOD RADIATIONAL COOLING EVENT HERE. WE ARE FORECASTING A WIDESPREAD FREEZE OF ABOUT 6-HOUR DURATION INLAND FROM THE IMMEDIATE COAST. FREEZE WATCHES AND WARNINGS WILL EVENTUALLY BE ISSUED OVER THE WEEKEND.
