13 OF THE RIVER GAGES IN OUR FORECAST AREA ARE AT FLOOD STAGE. 2 OF THOSE ARE AT MODERATE FLOOD STAGE OR HIGHER. RIVER LEVELS AT THE UPPER CHOCTAWHATCHEE AND UPPER FLINT HAVE CRESTED OR ARE NEARING CREST LEVELS NOW. FURTHER DOWN THE CHOCTAWHATCHEE...GENEVA IS CONTINUING TO RISE AND WILL LIKELY CREST JUST ABOVE MODERATE FLOOD STAGE LATER TONIGHT WITH THE CREST MOVING FURTHER DOWNSTREAM TOWARD CARYVILLE BY FRIDAY MORNING. ALBANY ON THE FLINT CONTINUES TO RISE AND IS STILL FORECAST TO CREST AROUND 27.7 FEET BY THURSDAY MORNING. OF IMMEDIATE CONCERN WILL BE THE APPROACHING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM AND RAINFALL IT IS PREDICTED TO DELIVER. CURRENT FORECASTS ARE FOR AROUND 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA. HOWEVER... HIGHER TOTALS ARE POSSIBLE AND DETERMINING EXACTLY WHERE THESE HEAVIER TOTALS WILL OCCUR IS DIFFICULT TO PINPOINT AT THIS TIME. AS SUCH...THE OVERALL IMPACT TO THE RIVERS IS DIFFICULT TO QUANTIFY AT THIS TIME...HOWEVER IT DOES APPEAR THAT AT MINIMUM THIS INCREASED RAINFALL WILL PUT A HALT TO ANY RECESSIONS IN RIVER LEVELS.
