THE CLOSED LOW OVER THE MIDWEST IS PROGGED TO DRIFT SLOWLY NWD TONIGHT THEN BEGIN TO OPEN AND ACCELERATE TO THE ENE ACROSS THE SRN/ERN GREAT LAKES REGION THURSDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHT. THEN ALL EYES WILL FOCUS ON THE SHORT WAVE TROUGH OVER THE DESERT SW AS IT TRANSLATES EWD ACROSS OK/TX FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT. THE WEAK SURFACE FRONT OVER ERN PORTIONS OF THE CWA WILL CONTINUE TO DRIFT SLOWLY TO THE E TONIGHT THEN BECOME DIFFUSE ON THURSDAY. MEANWHILE...WEAK SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE LOWER MS VALLEY WILL TRANSLATE TO THE NE AND STRENGTHEN OVER THE MID-SOUTH THURSDAY/THURSDAY NIGHT...THEN BECOME CENTERED ACROSS THE OH VALLEY ON FRIDAY. THIS SURFACE PATTERN WILL PROMOTE A DRY N TO NE FLOW. BY LATE FRIDAY...LOW PRESSURE WILL TAKE SHAPE ALONG THE TX GULF COAST AND EMERGE INTO THE WRN GOMEX. LOW TEMPS TO START THE PERIOD WILL AVERAGE ABOUT 5 DEG COOLER THAN NORMAL THEN SLOWLY MODERATE TO 5 DEG WARMER THAN NORMAL BY THE END OF THE SHORT TERM. HIGH TEMPS WILL MODERATE A FEW DEG FOR WRN/CNTRL ZONES...WITH LITTLE DAY-TO-DAY CHANGE FOR ERN ZONES.
