Tropical Storm Rick will bring torrential rainfall to Mexico over the next couple of days; however, the United States will be impacted by the remnants of Rick later this week.
Thursday, the remnants of Rick will interact with a cold front dropping across Texas and the Mississippi Valley leading to enhanced rainfall. Rainfall and thunderstorms along this cold front will be locally heavy with several inches possible over a short time frame. This will lead to an increased risk for flash flooding, especially from southeastern Texas into Louisiana.
The good news is that this cold front will quickly push eastward with the rain and thunderstorms spreading into the Southeast by Friday.
