THE HEAVY 10 TO 20 INCH STORM TOTAL RAINFALL OVER NORTHERN GEORGIA EARLIER THIS WEEK IS FORECAST TO GENERATE STRONG RISES DOWNSTREAM ON THE CHATTAHOOCHEE...APALACHICOLA AND ALTAMAHA RIVERS OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. NO FLOODING IS EXPECTED... HOWEVER WATER LEVELS ON THE UPPER APALACHICOLA RIVER WILL APPROACH FLOOD LEVELS. CHATTAHOOCHEE RIVER...EXPECT AN ADDITIONAL RISE OF AROUND 10 FEET IN TAILWATER ELEVATIONS BELOW GEORGE LOCK AND DAM AND BELOW ANDREWS LOCK AND DAM. INFLOWS INTO THE WOODRUFF DAM POOL IS EXPECTED TO GENERATE AN ADDITIONAL ONE FOOT RISE ON LAKE SEMINOLE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. APALACHICOLA RIVER...INCREASED RELEASES FROM WOODRUFF DAM WILL GENERATE AN ADDITIONAL 3 TO 4 FOOT RISE DOWNSTREAM AT BLOUNTSTOWN AND 2 TO 3 FEET ON THE LOWER APALACHICOLA RIVER AT WEWAHITCHKA AND SUMATRA OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.
