THE MID/UPPER RIDGE WILL REMAIN CENTERED OVER THE PLAINS THROUGH SATURDAY. THEN SHORT WAVE ENERGY ASSOCIATED WITH THE TROUGH OVER BRITISH COLUMBIA/PACIFIC NORTHWEST SATURDAY NIGHT SURGES EAST AND SOUTHEAST THROUGH THE NORTHERN/CENTRAL ROCKIES INTO THE PLAINS/MIDWEST SUNDAY/SUNDAY NIGHT. THE SURFACE LOW OVER LA/EASTERN TX WILL MEANDER BEFORE LIFTING NORTHWARD ON SUNDAY. THERE CONTINUE TO BE MODEL DIFFERENCES IN THE AMOUNT OF WEDGING THAT WILL OCCUR INTO THE SOUTHEAST CONUS FROM THE STRENGTHENING MIDDLE ATLANTIC REGION HIGH. THE GFS` DEPICTION IS SLIGHTLY STRONGER AND FURTHER SOUTHWEST THAN THE NAM...WHICH WOULD RESULT IN A TIGHTER PRESSURE GRADIENT AND STRONGER WINDS ACROSS OUR MARINE AREA. WITH THE DYNAMICS WEAKENING/SHIFTING FURTHER NORTH AND DRIER AIR TRYING TO ROTATE INTO THE AREA FROM THE SOUTHWEST THIS WEEKEND...DEPICTED A NORTH-SOUTH POP GRADIENT FOR SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WITH 60 PCT AL/GA ZONES AND 40 TO 50 PCT FL ZONES. CONVECTION WILL GENERALLY DIMINISH DURING THE NIGHTTIME PERIODS WITH 30 PCT POPS. TEMPS DURING THE PERIOD WILL AVERAGE SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL WITH HIGHS NEAR 90 AND LOWS IN THE LOWER TO MID 70S.
