A VERY CONVOLUTED LONG WAVE PATTERN EXISTS ACROSS N AMERICA THIS EVENING. I AM NOT SURE I HAVE EVER SEEN SO MANY CUT OFF UPPER LOWS OVER THE CONUS AT THE SAME. AS OF 00Z...WE SEE ONE LOW SPINNING OVER THE DAKOTAS...ANOTHER NEAR PHILADELPHIA...ONE OVER SRN NEW MEXICO AND A FOURTH OVER TX. ITS THIS NEAREST SYSTEM THAT WILL BE IMPACTING OUR WX OVER THE WEEKEND. SURFACE ANALYSIS SHOWS HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE SRN APPALACHIANS. FRONTOGENESIS IS ONGOING ACROSS THE NRN GULF OF MEXICO. THE GRADIENT BETWEEN THE TWO SYSTEMS IS PRODUCING ELY LOW LEVEL FLOW ACROSS THE REGION WITH 10-15 KT WINDS OVER THE MARINE AREA. THE 00Z KTAE SOUNDING SHOWS WINDS VEER QUICKLY TO THE SW ABOVE 8 KFT. MOST MODELS SHOW THIS OVERRUNNING PATTERN INCREASING OVERNIGHT AND PEAKING SAT EVENING. REGIONAL RADARS HAVE SHOWS A BAND OF STEADY RAIN OVER THE NW AND N CENTRAL GULF COAST AND THEN OUT OVER THE NE GULF. THIS ACTIVITY SHOULD SPREAD SLOWLY NWD OVERNIGHT. BY DAYBREAK...WE SHOW POPS IN THE CATEGORICAL RANGE RIGHT UP TO THE COAST WITH LIKELY FOR THE PANHANDLE COASTAL COUNTIES. POPS DROP OFF RAPIDLY TO THE NE WITH 30 PERCENT FOR TLH AND SILENT 10S FOR THE AREAS N AND E OF TIFTON GA. BY SAT AFTERNOON...THE CATEGORICAL POP SPREADS ALL THE WAY ACROSS NW FL AND SE AL AND INTO SW GA WITH LIKELY TO THE NE OF THAT. IT IS DEFINITELY LOOKING LIKE IT WILL BE A RAINY TIME AT DOAK CAMPBELL STADIUM HERE AT FSU SAT EVENING. MINOR ADJUSTMENTS WERE MADE TO THE INHERITED POPS FOR TONIGHT AND SAT MAINLY TO ALIGN WITH NEIGHBORING OFFICES. IT HAS BEEN DRY ENOUGH OF LATE THAT ANTICIPATED RAINFALL TOTALS SHOULD NOT CAUSE SIGNIFICANT FLOODING CONCERNS...AT LEAST OVER THE WEEKEND.
