MIAMI - Forecasters say Felicia has strengthened from a tropical storm to a hurricane far out in the Pacific while Tropical Storm Enrique is getting stronger not far away.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami says Felicia's maximum sustained winds are near 80 mph and it could be a major hurricane during the next day or so. Enrique, which is farther east, has winds near 60 mph.

Enrique is centered about 780 miles southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula. Felicia is about 1,315 miles west-southwest of the peninsula's tip.

Right now neither is threatening land.
