THE GFS/GFS ENSEMBLE MEAN/ECMWF ARE GENERALLY IN AGREEMENT THROUGH TUESDAY...THEN BEGIN TO SHOW CONSIDERABLE DIFFERENCES THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK. THEREFORE...CONFIDENCE WILL REMAIN LOW THROUGH THIS PERIOD. THE PERIOD BEGINS WITH A HIGHLY AMPLIFIED UPPER-LEVEL PATTERN ACROSS THE COUNTRY WITH AN UPPER TROUGH OVER THE EASTERN STATES AND RIDGING OUT WEST. THIS PATTERN WILL HOLD IN PLACE THROUGH TUESDAY. WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...THE GFS ENSEMBLE MEAN SHOWS THIS UPPER TROUGH OVER THE EASTERN STATES FILLING AS A RIDGE AXIS BUILDS WEST OVER THE LOCAL AREA. THE ECMWF KEEP THE UPPER TROUGH IN PLACE THROUGH FRIDAY...WHICH IS COMPLETELY OUT OF PHASE WITH THE OTHER SOLNS. AT THE SURFACE...THE WEAK FRONTAL BOUNDARY DISCUSSED ABOVE IN THE SHORT TERM WILL REMAIN IN THE VICINITY OR OVER PORTIONS OF THE LOCAL FORECAST AREA INTO MONDAY. WITH PLENTY OF DRY AIR FILLING IN OVER THE NORTHWESTERN PORTION OF THE CWA...THE BEST CHANCE FOR SHOWERS THROUGH THE FIRST 24 TO 36 HRS WILL BE OVER THE BIG BEND AND SOUTH-CENTRAL GEORGIA. THIS DRIER AIR WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY COOLER TEMPERATURES SUNDAY AND MONDAY NIGHTS. WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY...MOIST EAST AND SOUTHEAST FLOW WILL FILL IN ACROSS THE AREA AS A RIDGE AXIS SETS UP NORTH OF THE CWA.
