LONG TERM (FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY)...EXTENDED PATTERN SOMEWHAT STAGNANT ACROSS CONUS WITH A TROF IN THE EAST...UPPER ANTICYCLONE OVER MEXICO...AND A LONGWAVE TROF OFF WEST COAST. DURING THE PERIOD...THE TROF OVER SOUTHEAST U.S. WILL MOVE SLOWLY EASTWARD SOMEWHAT ANCHORED BETWEEN THE ANTICYCLONES OVER MEXICO AND WESTERN ATLANTIC. AT THE SURFACE...THE EXTENDED BEGINS WITH A COLD FRONT DRAPED ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST U.S...WHICH PULLS UP STATIONARY AND GRADUALLY WASHES OUT BY SUNDAY AS EAST-WEST RIDGING SETTLES BACK INTO OUR AREA ON SUNDAY AND MONDAY. A DRYING TREND BEGINS ON SATURDAY AND CONTINUES THROUGH MONDAY. ISOLATED SEA BREEZE CONVECTION IS EXPECTED EACH DAY EXCEPT POSSIBLY ON SUNDAY. MOISTURE BEGINS TO RETURN ON TUESDAY AS SOUTHWEST FLOW BEGINS TO DOMINATE AND BREAK THROUGH THE WEAKENING EAST-WEST SURFACE RIDGE. MODELS DO DIVERGE SLIGHTLY NEAR THE END OF THE PERIOD WITH THE EURO MAINTAINING THE STRONGER ANTICYCLONE OVER MEXICO AND THE GFS BRINGS THE TROF ASHORE INTO THE DESERT SOUTHWEST. THEREFORE...THE EURO MAINTAINS A SOMEWHAT DEEPER AND SLOWER MOVING TROF ALONG THE FLORIDA EAST COAST BETWEEN THE TWO HIGHS. HOWEVER...THE GENERAL TREND WILL BE FOR VERY NEAR CLIMO TEMPS DURING THE PERIOD WITH POPS BEING SOMEWHAT BELOW NORMAL EXCEPT ON DAY7.
