NEAR ZONAL FLOW ALOFT WILL PERSIST THROUGH MUCH OF THE LONG TERM PERIOD. WITHIN THIS FLOW PATTERN...SHORTWAVES WILL MOVE THROUGH PROVIDING UPPER SUPPORT FOR THE ENHANCEMENT OF ANY AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND STORMS INTO NEXT WEEKEND. THE INITIAL WAVE ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT/ THURSDAY WILL RESULT IN SCATTERED STORMS THURSDAY...ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE NORTHERN PORTIONS OF THE AREA. A SIMILAR SET UP OCCURS ON FRIDAY...BUT THE MODELS SHOW THE BULK OF THE ENERGY REMAINING ACROSS THE TENNESSEE VALLEY...THUS WILL ONLY KEEP POPS IN THE 20 TO 30 PERCENT RANGE...WHICH ISN`T TOO FAR ABOVE CLIMO. WEAK MID LEVEL RIDGING BEGINS TO BUILD BACK IN ACROSS THE GULF ON SATURDAY AND INTO SUNDAY. GIVEN THAT THE CENTRAL PORTION OF THE RIDGE WILL BE BACK TO OUR WEST...WILL OPT FOR SLIGHT CHANCE POPS THROUGH THE WEEKEND...BUT IT WOULDN`T SURPRISE ME IF THESE POPS CAN BE REMOVED IN FUTURE FORECASTS. TEMPERATURES WILL GENERALLY BE AROUND CLIMO THROUGH FRIDAY. WITH THE RIDGING COMING BACK FOR THE WEEKEND...MAX TEMPS WILL APPROACH 90 BY SUNDAY AND MONDAY
