Through Friday

AFTER WHAT HAS BEEN A RELATIVELY COOL...BUT NEAR RECORD WET APRIL ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA...THE NEAR TERM PORTION OF THE FCST LOOKS VERY WARM TO HOT ACROSS THE REGION DURING THE NEXT FEW DAYS AS BOTH SFC AND UPPER LEVEL RIDGING BUILD IN AND STRENGTHEN ACROSS THE SE US THROUGH AT LEAST FRIDAY. (FOR COMPARISON...THE RECORD HIGH TEMPS FOR TALLAHASSEE (TLH) RANGE FROM 90 TO 95 DURING APRIL 23RD TO APRIL 30TH...WITH WHAT MAY BE THE MOST VULNERABLE RECORD OF 90 ON THE 25TH SET IN 1990 TO KEEP AN EYE ON. AS FOR TOTAL RAINFALL...AFTER THE ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF 0.24" LAST EVENING ON THE 22ND...TLH IS NOW UP TO 10.18" FOR THE MONTH WHICH IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR 6TH PLACE ALL TIME. SINCE 5TH PLACE IS 10.44"...WE NEED 0.27" TO FALL BEFORE THE END OF THE MONTH...WHICH DOES NOT LOOK TOO PROMISING AT THE MOMENT.
