THE 18 UTC REGIONAL SURFACE ANALYSIS SHOWED A COLD FRONT FROM TIFTON GA THROUGH TALLAHASSEE FL...AND OUT INTO THE SOUTHERN GULF. A FEW SHOWERS ACCOMPANIED THIS FRONT BUT THE VERY DRY SINKING AIR ALOFT WAS PREVENTING SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENT. VAPOR IMAGERY AND UPPER AIR DATA SHOWED A TROUGH BEGINNING TO LIFT NORTHEASTWARD TOWARD THE MID ATLANTIC COAST WITH RIDGING OVER THE ROCKIES. A BELT OF STRONG SOUTHWEST WINDS DEVELOPED ACROSS EASTERN APALACHEE BAY AND NORTH FL THIS MORNING...APPARENTLY BETWEEN A MESOSCALE LOW OVER SOUTHEAST GA AND COLD POOL INDUCED MESOCALE HIGH OVER CENTRAL FL. THESE WINDS PUSHED TIDES IN APALACHEE BAY UP 1 TO 2 FEET ABOVE NORMAL...SO WE ISSUED A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY THROUGH THIS EVENING.
