Washed out roads in Kinston are rerouting some residents

Monday's heavy rainfall led to additional transportation concerns in Southwest Coffee County.

In the torrential rains from two-weeks-ago, Coffee County Road 494 in Kinston caved in. It continues to pose a danger, not to mention an inconvenience for area motorists.

In addition, Country Road 472 is closed. Kinston officials say they realize until it dries out, repairs will be hard to make.

At one time, there were seven roads closed in the county due to the rainfall late last month.
