The fourth blizzard to strike the Plains within two weeks will spread road-closing snow and high winds along a stretch of highway I-80 overnight. The worst of the storm will span west-central through northeastern Nebraska into southeastern South Dakota and northwestern Iowa. Snowfall will top 6 inches with at least one foot of snow locally. Highest winds reaching 40, 50 and locally even 60 mph will whip up much blowing and drifting, including whiteouts.

Major highways subject to major delays and even closure will be I-80 over Nebraska westward from Grand Island and I-29 in southeastern South Dakota. Closures will happen on some primary and secondary roads within this area.

Farther west, areas hit by the blizzard during the day on Saturday, namely eastern Wyoming to western Nebraska and western South Dakota, will improve overnight with snowfall of 3 inches or less. Winds and drifting snow will lessen.
