MID/UPPER TROUGH FROM ATLANTIC WATERS SOUTHWEST ACROSS THE FL PENINSULA WILL BE REPLACED BY SHORT WAVE RIDGE TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY. THEN NEXT TROUGH ALONG THE NORTHERN TIER U.S. WILL DIG SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE GREAT LAKES ON THURSDAY. SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE TO THE NORTH TONIGHT SHIFTS EAST TO THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION WITH A RIDGE AXIS TO THE GULF COAST ON WEDNESDAY. THIS WILL ALLOW WINDS TO VEER FROM THE NORTH TO THE NORTHEAST AND EAST. BOTH THE NAM AND GFS SHOW AN INVERTED TROUGH TAKING SHAPE OVER THE EAST CENTRAL GULF OF MEXICO TONIGHT AND MOVE IT WESTWARD DURING THE PERIOD. THE GFS SHOWS SOME MOISTURE ASSOCIATED THIS FEATURE MAKING IT INTO OUR COASTAL WATERS WEDNESDAY AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT...WHILE THE NAM KEEPS THE MOISTURE FURTHER SOUTH...WHICH IS THE PREFERRED SOLUTION. BY THURSDAY...THE RIDGE WEAKENS AND MOVES OFFSHORE IN ADVANCE OF AN APPROACHING COLD FRONT. DRIER AIR MASS WILL MAINTAIN SLIGHTLY ABOVE NORMAL DAYTIME TEMPS AND NORMAL NIGHTTIME LOWS DURING THE PERIOD.
