Midwest storms cut path of destruction


INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Crews from the National Weather Service are
heading to southern Indiana to determine whether the area was hit
by a tornado yesterday.
One twister has already been confirmed in the northeastern part
of the state.
It was part of storm system that blew across Indiana and
Illinois yesterday, damaging homes and knocking out power.
High winds tossed a school bus onto a building in Fayetteville,
Ind., south of Indianapolis.
Lawrence County officials say 19 houses were damaged, including
three that were destroyed.
A truck driver suffered minor injuries when winds flipped his
semitrailer on its side on Interstate 65.
Near Springfield, Ill., authorities say a storm destroyed seven
homes in Loami (loh-AM'-uh) and damaged about 30 others.
