Discussion through Thursday Night

THE SURFACE HIGH WILL DROP SEWD TO THE CAROLINAS OVERNIGHT. THIS IS NOT AN IDEAL POSITION FOR US TO SEE A HARD FREEZE AND THEN THERE IS THE CIRRUS TO CONSIDER. WE ARE HOWEVER EXPECTING WINDS TO DROP OFF LATE. THIS SHOULD ALLOW MOST AREAS TO GET A LIGHT FREEZE. EXCEPTION WILL BE URBAN AREAS IN TALLAHASSEE AND DOTHAN. THE NORMALLY COLDEST AREAS IN THE SUWANNEE VALLEY AND OUR FAR NWRN ZONES (COFFEE AND GENEVA AL) COULD BRIEFLY REACH THE MID 20S...BUT MOST OF THE AREA WILL SEE TEMPS BOTTOM OUT AT 27 TO 32 DEGREES. THE UPPER RIDGE WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE GRADUAL BUT STEADY PROGRESS EWD OVER THE BALANCE OF THE SHORT TERM PERIOD AS THE SURFACE RIDGE AXIS SETTLES FURTHER TO THE S. THIS SCENARIO MEANS WE WILL SEE CONTINUED DRY WEATHER WITH A WARMING TREND IN TEMPS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK. EVEN THOUGH TEMPS ARE FORECAST TO REMAIN ABOVE FREEZING WED NIGHT...WE COULD ACTUALLY SEE A MORE WIDESPREAD FROST AS DEW POINTS RECOVER INTO THE LOWER TO MID 30S AND DEW POINT DEPRESSIONS DROP TO ZERO IN CALM WINDS. TEMPS WILL RECOVER QUICKLY TO NEAR NORMAL FOR THU AND THU NIGHT.
