On Sunday, a wintry storm cutting eastward over the Deep South will head for the Georgia-South Carolina coast. Rare snow will fall as far south as central Mississippi, central Alabama and central Georgia with several inches covering grassy surfaces in areas heaviest snowfall. Travel will be effected.

The leading edge of rain, sleet and snow spreading northeastward will reach the Mason-Dixon Line. Baltimore and Washington, D.C., will get some of this mixed wintry precipitation.

Soaking rain will pelt much of the Carolinas to eastern Virginia with amounts reaching 1-2 inches. Street and urban flooding will be possible.

In east and south Florida, a cold front will trigger a few gusty thunderstorms.
