Forecast Discussion through Saturday

WITH OUR BRIEF WARMUP PUT TO AN END BY THIS MORNING`S COLD FRONT...THE MAIN FCST CONCERN OVER THE NEAR TERM WILL BE LOW TEMPERATURES...AS THE SFC RIDGE TO OUR NW BUILDS E-SE TOWARDS THE CWA. ALTHOUGH TONIGHT WILL BE MUCH COOLER THAN LAST NIGHT...N-NW WINDS OF 5 TO 10 KTS AND AT LEAST PATCHY CLOUD COVER SHOULD KEEP LOW TEMPS ABOVE FREEZING OVER MOST ALL LOCATIONS OVERNIGHT. AFTER A MOSTLY SUNNY...BREEZY...AND COOL DAY ON FRIDAY...THE STAGE WILL BE SET FOR A DECENT RADIATIONAL COOLING FREEZE ON FRIDAY NIGHT...AS THE SFC RIDGE BUILDS IN NEARLY OVERHEAD. 850 MB TEMPS ARE EXPECTED TO BE BETWEEN -2 AND -4 DEGREES OVERNIGHT...AND IF WINDS DO BECOME NEARLY CALM...SOME OF THE COLDER INLAND LOCATIONS MAY REACH HARD FREEZE LEVELS. IN ANY EVENT...ANOTHER WIDESPREAD LIGHT FREEZE APPEARS VERY LIKELY...BUT WILL LET THE MID SHIFT DETERMINE IF A HARD FREEZE WATCH IS NECESSITATED FOR A PORTION OF THE AREA...WHICH WILL IN TURN... ALSO GIVE US A COUPLE OF MORE CYCLES OF MODEL GUIDANCE TO ANALYZE.
