THE HIGHLY AMPLIFIED PATTERN ALOFT WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE FIRST HALF OF THE WEEK. A COLD FRONT AND ASSOCIATED SHORT WAVE WILL EXIT THE AREA SUNDAY NIGHT WITH PCPN ENDING FROM WEST TO EAST. THE AIR MASS BEHIND THIS FRONT WILL NOT BE AS COLD AS PREVIOUS FRONTAL PASSAGES...WITH THE AXIS OF RIDGE CENTERING OVER THE PLAINS FOR MONDAY AND TUESDAY. ANOTHER SHORT WAVE DROPS QUICKLY SEWD FROM THE MO VALLEY MONDAY AFTERNOON...AND ACROSS THE GULF COAST STATES MONDAY NIGHT. WHILE THE LOW LEVELS WILL BE RATHER DRY...THERE MAY BE ENOUGH MOISTURE ALOFT TO SQUEEZE OUT A FEW SPRINKLES. WHILE TEMPS WILL BE CLOSE TO FREEZING AT THAT TIME...NOT CONFIDENT THAT THERE WILL BE ANY WINTRY PCPN TO SPEAK OF. AFTER THIS SYSTEM EXITS...THE PATTERN ALOFT WILL BEGIN TO CHANGE AS THE RIDGE TO THE WEST BUILDS EWD TOWARD THE GULF COAST AND SERN STATES. THIS WILL RESULT IN A GRADUAL WARMING TREND...WITH TEMPS RETURNING TO CLIMO LEVELS BY THE END OF THE WEEK.
