Tuesday through Wednesday Night Discussion

SATELLITE AND SFC ANALYSIS INDICATE THAT THE ANTICIPATED WAVE ALONG THE FRONT IN THE GULF IS BEGINNING TO TAKE SHAPE. PRECIP HAS BEGUN TO BREAK ACROSS THE NORTHERN FLORIDA PENINSULA OVER THE PAST TWO HOURS. EXPECT PRECIPITATION TO CONTINUE TO INCREASE IN COVERAGE THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS AS THE OFFENDING SHORTWAVE MOVES ACROSS THE NORTHERN GULF AND THE SFC LOW MOVES NORTHEAST ALONG THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY. WITH DECENT ISENTROPIC LIFT AND THE INFLUENCE OF THE RIGHT ENTRANCE REGION OF THE POLAR JET...QPF MAY REACH ONE INCH OVERNIGHT ACROSS THE SOUTHEASTERN BIG BEND. WILL HAVE CATEGORICAL POPS THERE OVERNIGHT WITH A TIGHT GRADIENT TO THE NORTHWEST SINCE A SHARP CUTOFF TO THE NORTH SIDE OF THE PRECIP IS EXPECTED. AS THE WAVE LIFTS OUT TO THE NORTHEAST TUESDAY...THE FRONT WILL FINALLY PUSH WELL SOUTH OF THE AREA AND THE NEXT PUSH OF COLDER AIR WILL MAKE ITS WAY INTO THE DEEP SOUTH. MAY SEE A FEW HIGHS NEAR 60 TUESDAY AFTERNOON...BUT THEN TEMPS NOT EXPECTED TO LEAVE THE 50S FOR SEVERAL DAYS. EXPECT TEMPS TO STAY ABOVE FREEZING TONIGHT EXCEPT FOR POSSIBLY PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST ALABAMA. A LIGHT FREEZE IS LIKELY BY WEDNESDAY MORNING WITH A POSSIBLE HARD FREEZE THURSDAY MORNING.
