Christmas Day Forecast Discussion

By: NWS
By: NWS

INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS AND CHRISTMAS MORNING WILL BE LOOKING AT A CHANCE OF CONTINUED SCT SHOWERS ACROSS MAINLY THE NW THIRD OF THE AREA. WEAKENING LOW LEVEL WINDS MAY ALLOW FOR THE FORMATION OF SOME LOCALLY DENSE FOG IN SPOTS. THE FOG MAY BECOME ESPECIALLY THICK AT TIMES ALONG THE COASTS OF WAKULLA/FRANKLIN COUNTY AS DEWPOINTS IN THE MIDDLE 60S OVERRIDE THE RELATIVELY COOLER SHELF WATERS OF APALACHEE BAY AND RESULT IN SEA FOG FORMATION. .PREVIOUS DISCUSSION... CHRISTMAS...THIS IS CERTAINLY GOING TO BE A WARM CHRISTMAS ACROSS THE REGION. AS THE COLD FRONT RETREATS IN THE AFTERNOON AS A WARM FRONT...RAIN CHANCES FROM THE MORNING WILL DIMINISH CONSIDERABLY ACROSS THE NORTHERN SECTIONS OF THE REGION. THE BIG STORY WILL BE TEMPERATURES. IF WE CAN GET ENOUGH BREAKS IN THE OVERCAST...WHICH SHOULD HAPPEN IN THE AFTERNOON...WE WILL BE LOOKING AT ONE OF THE WARMER CHRISTMAS DAYS ON RECORD IN THE REGION.
