Heavy Rain Heightens Threat of Flash Flooding in Counties

UNDATED, Ala. (AP) - A severe storm system packing the threat of tornadoes could bring flash flooding to some counties.

The National Weather Service issued tornado warnings throughout Monday morning for counties in south, central, and west Alabama. There were no immediate reports of any twister touching down as the system spawned by remnants of Tropical Depression Fay rolled across
the state.

Runoff from the heavy rain could flood some creeks, roadways and low-lying areas.

Forecaster say most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never driver your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway.
