Houston County EMA Director Clark Matthews says low estimates for rainfall in Dothan have increased to predictions of up to 20 inches for this weekend.

Matthews hosted a briefing attended by area law enforcement, fire officials, school personnel, and others Tuesday.

A meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Tallahassee says Dothan could receive up to 20 inches of rain this weekend.

"It went from 2-4 inches this morning, to 10-20 inches later in the day today," EMA Director Clark Matthews said. "Either way they tell us we could be in for a major rain event this weekend."
