Long Term Discussion

LONG TERM
(FRIDAY THROUGH NEXT TUESDAY)....
UPPER LEVEL PATTERN WILL BE QUITE AMPLIFIED ACROSS MUCH OF THE
CONUS TO START OUT THE EXTENDED PERIOD. GLOBAL GUIDANCE IN GOOD
AGREEMENT WITH RESPECT TO THE NORTHERN STREAM FLOW SHOWING DEEP
TROUGHING ACROSS THE INTER-MOUNTAIN WEST...FOLLOWED DOWNSTREAM BY
RIDING INTO THE UPPER MIDWEST...AND THEN ANOTHER SIGNIFICANT TROUGH
OVER THE NORTHEASTERN STATES. CLOSER TO HOME...ALL OF THIS ACTIVE
WEATHER WILL NOT BE A CONCERN...AS A GENERALLY QUIET AND WARM
PATTERN ENDS OUT THE WORK WEEK ALONG THE NORTHEASTERN GULF COAST.
FRIDAY WILL SEE VERY WARM CONDITIONS UNDER STACKED RIDGING. HIGH
TEMPS ARE FORECAST TO BE SEVERAL DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL...INTO THE
MIDDLE 90S AWAY FROM THE COAST. THE RIDGING ALOFT AND RESULTING DRY
AIR SHOULD KEEP ANY AFTERNOON CONVECTION ISOLATED IN NATURE.

HEADING INTO THE UPCOMING WEEKEND...THE UPPER RIDGE IS PROGGED TO
PUSH WESTWARD. THIS MOVEMENT WILL RESULT IN A DEEP LAYER FLOW FROM
THE NORTHWEST...AND THE ARRIVAL OF A NEW FRONTAL SYSTEM. SIMILAR TO
WHAT WAS SEEN LAST WEEKEND...THIS FRONT IS EXPECTED TO STALL OVER
THE REGION...AND ANY SIGNIFICANT INTRUSION OF DRY AIR SHOULD BE
CONFINED TO OUR NORTHERN ZONES. RAIN CHANCES WILL BECOME HIGHER
WITH THE FRONT IN THE AREA...AND THE LACK OF SUPPRESSION ALOFT.
HOWEVER...ONLY LOOKING FOR A SCATTERING OF SHOWERS AND STORMS.
TEMPERATURES INTO THE EARLY PORTION OF NEXT WEEK REMAIN ABOVE
CLIMO.
