Long Term Discussion

THURSDAY THROUGH NEXT MON.
THE UPPER LEVEL PATTERN STARTS OUT WITH RIDGING OVER THE WESTERN
U.S. AND TROUGHING OVER THE EAST. THE REMAINS OF AN OLD FRONTAL
BOUNDARY WILL LIKELY BE DRAPED ACROSS THE FAR SOUTHERN REACHES OF
THE FORECAST AREA WITH RELATIVELY DRY AIR OVER THE MAJORITY OF THE
AREA. AS TIME MARCHES FORWARD...THE 00Z GFS SHOWS THIS BOUNDARY
REMAINING MOSTLY STATIONARY WITH AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE BUILDING OVER
THE OHIO VALLEY THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THE BEST CHANCE FOR CONVECTION
EACH DAY LOOKS TO BE FROM THE SOUTHEAST BIG BEND ACROSS THE FLORIDA
PANHANDLE AND THE COASTAL WATERS. TEMPERATURES WILL LIKELY CONTINUE
ABOVE NORMAL THROUGH FRIDAY...THEN COOL SLIGHTLY BACK TO NEAR NORMAL
VALUES FOR THE WEEKEND.
