FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

1. AN AREA OF DISORGANIZED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE
SOUTHWESTERN GULF OF MEXICO IS ASSOCIATED WITH A WESTWARD-MOVING
TROPICAL WAVE. THERE IS A LOW CHANCE...10 PERCENT...OF TROPICAL
CYCLONE FORMATION BEFORE THIS SYSTEM MOVES INLAND OVER MEXICO THIS
WEEKEND.

2. THERE HAS BEEN LITTLE CHANGE WITH AN ELONGATED AREA OF LOW PRESSURE
LOCATED ROUGHLY 300 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF THE CAPE VERDE
ISLANDS. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS APPEAR FAVORABLE FOR DEVELOPMENT
AND A TROPICAL DEPRESSION COULD FORM DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF
DAYS. THERE IS A MEDIUM CHANCE...40 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM
BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS AS IT MOVES
SLOWLY WESTWARD.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.
