Colin Weakens to Tropical Depression Near Bermuda

MIAMI (AP) - Colin has weakened to a tropical depression Bermuda and could fully dissipate later in the day.

Colin's maximum sustained winds were about 35 mph (55 kph) Sunday.

The storm's center was passing near Bermuda, but it steered clear of a direct hit.

A tropical storm watch is still in effect for the British territory, which could see 1 to 3 inches of rain and battering waves.

Forecasters at the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said the center of the storm is about 45 miles (75 kilometers) west of Bermuda and is moving north around 12 mph (19 kph).

In the Pacific, Tropical Storm Estelle has top sustained winds of 60 mph (95 kph) as it heads away from Mexico.
