THURSDAY Rain showers will be moving through the Wiregrass Thursday morning, not a big rainmaker totals will be between one tenth and three tenths of an inch. The daily high will be in the morning hours then things will cool off rapidly throughout the afternoon, rain should be ending in the early afternoon but skies will remain overcast. THURSDAY NIGHT A much cooler airmass will creep into the area overnight and cause temperatures to drop into the low to mid 30s. Places like Barbour and Pike counties could see temperatures below the freezing mark. FRIDAY The cooler airmass will be firmly in place Friday as afternoon high temperatures will be around 50 degrees. A mix of sun and clouds can be expected through the afternoon, winds out of the north 5-10 mph EXTENDED The cold air stays with us for the weekend as temperatures Saturday and Sunday remain below average near 60 degrees for afternoon highs and morning lows around 40. High pressure will mean plenty of sunshine at least for Saturday although Sunday we begin to get some return flow as the winds shift creating the chance of an afternoon shower or two. Rain chances will increase as we begin the workweek and temperatures will remain a few degrees below average.
