Walking robots could explore planets, lead to improved prosthetics

Researchers at the California Institute of Technology are developing walking robots that can automatically adjust their gait based on the type of terrain they encounter. The technology is also being used to develop new prosthetics that will adjust to the users gait. Scientists hope the robots will eventually be able to respond to areas people cant, like disaster zones or missions to Mars.
