Featured Players Theatre, 137 N Saint Andrews St
A classic tale by Oscar Wilde, called "A Trivial Comedy For Serious People" The Importance Of Being Earnest comes to the Featured Players stage. Set in London, 1895, the story begins with Algernon Moncrieff meeting with his best friend, whom he knows as "Earnest", who has come to propose to Algernon's cousin Gwendolen. However, it is quickly revealed that all is not as it seems, and Earnest is not "Earnest" at all... he's John Worthing. Things become even more complicated, as Algernon travels to John's home, and assumes the Earnest identity himself, to woo John's niece, Cecily. Then, when Gwendolen and Cecily cross paths, both believing they're engaged to the same man, "Earnest", things quickly escalate into all-out chaos.
