SEACT’s It’s a Wonderful Life

SEACT’s It’s a Wonderful Life tickets now on sale and the SEACT Office are selling tickets for It’s a Wonderful Life, performing at the Cultural Arts Center Dec. 7-12. SEACT brings the story of George Bailey from the small town of Bedford Falls to life. His dreams of escape and adventure have been quashed by family obligation and civic duty. A guardian angel visits George on Christmas Eve to save him from despair and to remind him that his has been, after all, a wonderful life. The story celebrates the faith of the season, and the American values of family and community. SEACT presents It’s a Wonderful Life on the Cultural Arts Center stage Dec. 7-12. Seating begins at 6:45 PM and the show begins at 7:00 PM nightly. Each performance runs approximately 2 hours with one 15-minute intermission. SEACT considers the content “PG.”

Tickets are available online at or by contacting the SEACT Office (334) 794-0400 (closed until Nov. 30 for Thanksgiving holiday). The SEACT office is located inside the Cultural Arts Center at 909 S. St. Andrews Street in Dothan. Tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for students/seniors 65+/military with ID.

My Little Christmas Shoppe

This is an event where the community can come in to purchase home made items that the seniors have been working on year long. We have an adult room and a room for kids to purchase gifts for family..

My Little Christmas Shoppe is held on Thursday December 3, 2015 at the Rosehill Senior Adult center on 401 South Appletree Street in Dothan Alabama. The hours will be 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

In the upstairs room where the kids can buy gifts are priced from $1.00 to $10.00. The free gift wrapping is for kids only! We have an adult craft room where we have higher priced items for sale such as quilts and other items.

Enterprise - Christmas Parade

City leaders encourage everyone to attend the Tuesday, Dec. 1, Christmas parade, sponsored annually downtown by the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce. Should rain cause postponement of the parade on Tuesday, the parade will take place on Thursday, Dec. 3

Enterprise - Christmas at the Farmers Market

Everyone is also invited to come and enjoy “Christmas at the Farmers Market” on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Santa Claus will be making a return visit to catch up with local youngsters who want to tell him their Christmas wishes or perhaps just remind him about what’s on their lists.

Youngsters will not only get to talk to Santa, but they will get a chance to listen to the Christmas story, and spend the morning decorating their very own free Christmas ornament.

During the children’s activities, grown-ups can shop for winter produce, homemade goods and arts and crafts.

Enterprise Christmas Tree-Lighting

The annual Enterprise Tree-Lighting ceremony is set for Thursday, Dec. 3, at City Hall, where the fresh, extra-large city Christmas tree will be decorated and lighted for the first time.

Santa Claus will be taking Christmas wish requests after the ceremony that will feature music by the Enterprise State Community College Entertainers and an ensemble of elementary schoolers from Enterprise City Schools as well as an inspiring message by the Rev. Trevor Woolridge of Johns Chapel AME Church.

More details about this year’s tree-lighting festivities will be announced later.

Dothan Christmas Tree Lighting

Dothan Civic Center Parking Lot
Downtown Dothan will be filled with Christmas joy and children’s voices Tuesday, December 1st as the City of Dothan hosts its 37th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at the Dothan Civic Center Parking Lot.

At 6:00 p.m., Mayor Mike Schmitz and members of the Dothan City Commission along with other special guests will be on-hand to welcome the beginning of this joyous season. The Montana Magnet School Fifth Grade Chorus, under the direction of Kim Price, will entertain with Christmas carols. Santa Claus will be on-hand for photos and to spread holiday cheer.

The public is invited to celebrate Dothan’s special tree lighting to brighten the holidays. For more information, call Dothan Leisure Services at 334-615-3700.

Wiregrass Blues Society Christmas Party

Clarion Inn & Suites, Main Ballroom
The Wiregrass Blues Society will host its annual Christmas Party featuring the Terry Hanck Band on December 3rd, 2015, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Clarion Inn & Suites Main Ballroom. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

Pay as you go food and adult beverages will be available.

The Andalusia Civitan Holiday Half Marathon and 5K

This is our city’s first half marathon and will be in conjunction with
Candyland, Andalusia’s annual Christmas celebration. Our race route will wind through the square and by Springdale and will feature kid-size
cottages, a giant Christmas tree and snow.
Candyland will be expanding this year to include additional cottages, ice skating rink and trackless train.
Come to Andalusia, run our race and enjoy the rest of the day in Candyland. This will be a great opportunity to take Christmas photos
