7th “Walk this Weigh” Bariatric Fashion Show

The Grand on Foster
Flowers Hospital will host the 7th Annual “Walk this Weigh” Bariatric Fashion Show event on January 14th at The Grand on Foster at 6:30 p.m. to celebrate various patient successes in weight loss.

Each year the Flowers Hospital Center for Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery hosts its annual fashion show. In order to participate, patients must have lost at least fifty pounds since their surgery. During the fashion show, each participant gets a chance to say goodbye to their “before” picture as they begin their strut down the catwalk.

“It is very rewarding to see our patients so happy at the annual Bariatric Fashion Show event,” says Lindsey Jackson, Manager of the Center for Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery at Flowers Hospital. “Our staff and our surgeons begin this journey with them and it is absolutely wonderful to see how much they transition from start to finish.”

The Center for Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery at Flowers Hospital is designed to assist people with improving their health and quality of life by using surgical intervention for weight reduction. Bariatric surgery has proven to be effective by improving the health of individuals and many obesity-related conditions. Bariatric surgery procedures are only done when deemed necessary and all non-surgical options have been exhausted. Benefits of the surgery include reduction or elimination of adult onset diabetes, high blood pressure and respiratory conditions such as sleep apnea. It is not just a cosmetic change but life changing surgery.
