"Cheering for a Cure" Lupus Walk

The purpose of this event is bring awareness to the disease Lupus, and to teach our kids even with little effort, you can make a big change. 50% of the proceeds will be sent to the Lupus Foundation of American Mid South Chapter to aid in their outreach efforts and to further the research to find a cure for the disease. The other 50% will purchase equipments and uniforms for the children in the Ashford Youth Sports Association.

Donations drive. Each person bringing a donation will receive a ticket for a raffle taking place that day. Urgent items presently needed are gas cards, underwear, socks, shoes and pajamas for girls and boys of all sizes. We also need gospel singers for that day.

Homeless Stand Down/Connect Needs Help from the Community

Love In Action Ministries/Harbor Church inside the Ministry Center located at 320 North Foster St., Dothan, Alabama
Help us help the homeless. The Southeast Alabama Coalition for the Homeless (SEACH) will sponsor a Homeless Stand Down/Connect event on Saturday, May 18.
The event will be hosted by Love In Action Ministries/Harbor Church inside the Ministry Center located at 320 North Foster St., Dothan, Alabama from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The Homeless Stand Down/Connect will provide assistance, as well as a hot meal, to our homeless population. We are reaching out to the Wiregrass Community for HELP with volunteers as well as donations for items needed.
We are in need of the following items to support this stand down: clothes, shoes, socks, combs, hair brushes, blankets, sleeping bags, tents, personal hygiene items, dry food, and can food.
Donations can be dropped off at the Wiregrass United Way 2-1-1 office (545 W Main St., Suite 313) through May 16 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Donations can be dropped off at the Love In Action Ministry Center, starting on May 17 from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. as well as on the day of the event. Please help us support this worthwhile cause.

27th Annual Sandestin Triathlon

The 27th Annual Destin Triathlon (formerly the Elephant Walk Triathlon) will lure 700 participants for a half-mile Gulf of Mexico swim, a 20-mile bike along the coast, and a 4-mile run through Sandestin’s beach and bayside community. Then, sit back and relax while the Tri-State Community Orchestra and the Wiregrass Brass Quintet provide more entertainment for a perfect Mother's day weekend evening. Our Weekend Weather Anchor from WTVY News, Oscar Fann, will try his hand at conducting us for one piece. He's never done this before, so this should be fun for everyone!

Trying to raise money for a new roof for the church. We will be having our car show, Top 40 trophies, Best of Show and Peoples Choice trophies as well. Baked goods, yard sale, pony rides, inflatables, popcorn, cotton candy, ice cream, and some good old southern cooking. Live Southern Gospel music entertainment. Cars, Trucks, Bikes, anything is welcome to come.

The fundraiser will be from open to close Buffalo Wild Wings will donate 10% of all pre-taxed food sales(less alcohol and promotional discounts) from any guest that presents a fund raising ticket. All funds collected will be used to provide a wing addition to the Church of God Orphanage in INDIA. Come and help us keep the poor, helpless children from prostitution and slavery rings that are so prevelant in heavily populated areas. Together we can make a difference in Jesus name.
