Geneva County Job Fair
Johnny Hughes Community Center in Hartford
A job fair spot lighting Geneva County Businesses will be held on Thursday, March 12 at the Johnny Hughes Community Center in Hartford from 9-noon. The job fair is free and open to all wiregrass residents.

Bay Co. Easter Egg Hunt
H.G. Harder’s Park is located at 8110 John Pitts Rd., Panama City.
Bay County will host a free Easter Egg Hunt from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 28 at H.G. Harder’s Park. Two egg hunting areas will be cordoned off, one for children 5 to 9 years old and a separate toddler section.
The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance at 1 p.m. to pose for photographs, so parents should be certain to pack a camera. Egg hunting begins at 1:30 p.m., with prizes for the child who finds a golden egg in each age group.
The Bay County Pet Adoption Trolley will be on site with animals available for petting and adoption. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

SEACT Presents Les Miserables

In its 40th Anniversary year, SEACT marks the occasion with this challenging production, filled with local talent on stage, back stage, and in the orchestra pit. Les Misérables is an epic and uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit. The modern classic is based on Victor Hugo’s novel, and features one of the most memorable scores of all time.
With more than 80 on stage, 16 in the orchestra, and another 50 volunteers back stage and off stage, Les Misérables is one of the largest undertakings by SEACT in its history. Each performance runs 2 hours, 45 minutes with one intermission. SEACT considers the content “PG-13.” The show includes mild language and adult situations.

The box office is open 8:30 – 4:30 PM weekdays, and located on the second floor of the Dothan Civic Center. Tickets are $25 for adults and $23 for students/seniors 65+/military with ID. Performances are at 7:00 PM Mar. 9-14 and 2:00 PM Mar. 14-15. The lobby opens at 6:00 PM with tickets on sale if the performance is not sold out. Reserved seating begins at 6:30 PM.

Second Annual Mural City Art Walk
Foster Street, Dothan, AL
The Murals of the Wiregrass board is proud to present the Second Annual Mural City Art Walk. This event will be hosted on Saturday, March 7th, 2015 in beautiful downtown Dothan. Attendees will be treated to a variety of artists set up along the 100 block of Foster Street from 10am to 4pm.
This family-friendly event will showcase the talents of all artistic mediums from local artists, as well as artists from all over the Southeast. All art will be available for purchase, and entertainment will be aplenty with performances by local theater groups, dance groups, musicians, and even a live mural painting.
We are still accepting applications from artists on our website www.muralcityartwalk.com and would like to invite all artists to participate. All artists will be invited to celebrate the day with a closing reception at the Loft on Foster, which will feature live entertainment, food and more.
Mural City Art Walk Chairman, Susan Herring, states, “The Mural City Art Walk is a ‘can’t miss’ event for Dothan. It is the perfect showcase of our local, talented artists and I can not wait to find some new art pieces for my home.” Ms. Herring encourages all of Dothan to come out and support this event again this year.
All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Murals of the Wiregrass, which proudly maintains all the murals throughout Dothan.

WCSO to Host Basic Civilian Firearm Safety Course
Sheriff’s Office Firing Range located at 752 Triple G Road, Defuniak Springs
Would you like to learn more about the basic fundamentals of operating a firearm in a classroom environment, followed by practical exercises and some shooting? Or have you recently purchased a weapon and want to be more proficient? Then this is the class for you!
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office Basic Civilian Firearms Safety Program is held several times a year and it is a six hour course that details the basic safety and shooting fundamentals for most handguns. Courses are held on Saturdays and is instructed by members of the WCSO Training section. Completion of the course allows participants to apply for their concealed carry permit and packets are provided to course attendees.
The next class will take place on Saturday, April 4th at the Sheriff’s Office Firing Range located at 752 Triple G Road, Defuniak Springs. There is non-refundable course fee of $50 and seats are guaranteed after payment has been received. A complete application is required, and a background check will be conducted prior to acceptance. Firearms can be provided by the WCSO to attendees so that they can make an educated decision before they buy.
