Enterprise Christmas Tree-Lighting
Enterprise City Hall
The annual Enterprise Tree-Lighting ceremony is set for Thursday, Dec. 3, at City Hall, where the fresh, extra-large city Christmas tree will be decorated and lighted for the first time.
Santa Claus will be taking Christmas wish requests after the ceremony that will feature music by the Enterprise State Community College Entertainers and an ensemble of elementary schoolers from Enterprise City Schools as well as an inspiring message by the Rev. Trevor Woolridge of Johns Chapel AME Church.
More details about this year’s tree-lighting festivities will be announced later.

Friends of the Library Lunch and Learn Program

The Friends of the Library are people in our community who care about our public libraries and support them financially and through advocacy and volunteer services. Anyone can be come a Friend by going to any library and filling out the brochure or joining online at dhcls.org.
Author Olivia deBelle Byrd will be our author speaker at this event on December 10 at the Dothan Country Club. For $20 you can enjoy a delicious buffet lunch and speaker presentation. Mrs. Byrd will share a humorous presentation on Southern culture.
We will have a booth downtown on Saturday, December 5. We will have many new and gently used books available for purchase. We will also have handmade bookmarks. Additionally, we will have times made from reclaimed parts of the old library as well as book bags.

Dothan Christmas Tree Lighting
Dothan Civic Center Parking Lot
Downtown Dothan will be filled with Christmas joy and children’s voices Tuesday, December 1st as the City of Dothan hosts its 37th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at the Dothan Civic Center Parking Lot.
At 6:00 p.m., Mayor Mike Schmitz and members of the Dothan City Commission along with other special guests will be on-hand to welcome the beginning of this joyous season. The Montana Magnet School Fifth Grade Chorus, under the direction of Kim Price, will entertain with Christmas carols. Santa Claus will be on-hand for photos and to spread holiday cheer.

3rd Annual Mural City Artwalk

The 3rd Annual Mural City Artwalk will be held on March 5, 2016. The event will be from 10am to 5 pm in Downtown Dothan on Foster St., and will be free to the public. There will be activities for all ages as well as live music, great food, and amazing art!
This years artwalk will not only be fantastic place to admire and buy works from your favorite local talent but will also be a juried art show for anyone wishing to compete. A juried show means that artists will submit pieces of work to be judged and winners will be selected to receive great prizes. It is not required to be apart of the juried exhibition, all artists are welcome to come show off their work and even sell some if they would like.
All artists and vendors as well as sponsors and runners wanting to participate in the 5k can sign up through our webpage www. MuralCityArtwalk.com. Artist fee to sign up is $75 until Nov. 30 $100 from Dec1 - Jan. 1 and $150 from Jan. 2 to March 5. So sign up soon!
Calling All Teens! Creative Writing Workshops with Local Author

Join local author Danielle Wallace at the Dothan-Houston County Library for fun, inspirational creative writing workshops. Teens will be able to express themselves using different genres of writing, ranging from poetry to fiction. These workshops are free, so grab your pen, notepad, and your imagination to make a difference in the world around you. If you know a teen that would love to attend, share this information with them.
