Headland's Spring Art and Garden Festival

Headland will have a new festival this year on Saturday, May 17, the Spring Art & Garden Festival. This year’s event is an expansion of the former Daylily Festival and will feature an art show inside the park of Headland’s beautiful downtown square with farmer’s market and garden-related vendors to be situated on the perimeter. Entertainment, children’s art activities and gardening demonstrations are planned. Local daylily growers Bush Gardens will conduct garden tours that day.

Dr. Gwendolyn Boyd Speaks at Alabama State University

Alabama State University's first female President, Dr. Gwendolyn Boyd will be the guest speaker. Boyd is the University's 14th president in the school's 146 year history. Tickets are $ 30.00 and can be purchased from members of the Dothan ASU Alumni Chapter. Proceeds will benefit scholarships awarded to Wiregrass area students.
