12th Annual Boll Weevil 100 Bicycle Ride and 10K Road Run

First United Methodist Church on Main Street in Enterprise, AL
The 12th Annual Boll Weevil 100 Bicycle Ride and 10K Road Run will be held on Saturday, May 10, from the First United Methodist Church on Main Street in Enterprise, AL. The cycling event will begin at 7:00 am and has four ride lengths: 7-mile Fun Ride, 25-mile ride, Century ride, (100K) and 100-mile ride. The running events include a 10K run and a 3K (2-mile) Fun Walk/Run. The runs will begin immediately after the cyclists depart. All cyclists participating in the 25 mi, 100K and 100 mi events will receive medals after completing the ride; all cyclists and 10K runners will receive free t-shirts. The events are sponsored by the Enterprise Lions Club and proceeds will be used to support the Club's projects for wounded veterans, vision conservation and other priorities.Online registration has a reduced rate: $35 for adult cyclists; $25 for child cyclists; $20 for 7-mi Fun Ride and 10K run.

Renaissance Headland is holding a Spring Rummage Sale on April 5, 2014 or rain date April 12, 2014, from 7:00 a.m. until noon. Booth Rental is $15 plus 2 non-perishable food items. Homeless Stand Down/Connect

Help us help the homeless. The Southeast Alabama Coalition for the Homeless (SEACH) will sponsor a Homeless Stand Down/Connect event on Saturday, May 17, 2014. The event will be hosted by United Christian Fellowship Dothan at 208 East Lafayette St., Dothan, Alabama from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The Homeless Stand Down/Connect will provide assistance, as well as a meal, to our homeless population. We are reaching out to the Wiregrass Community for HELP with volunteers as well as donations for items needed. We are in need of the following items to support this stand down: clothes, socks, combs, hair brushes, blankets, sleeping bags, personal hygiene items, can food, and tents. Donations can be dropped off at the Wiregrass United Way 2-1-1 office Monday-Friday (545 W Main St., Suite 313) until May 15th between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM. Donations can be dropped off at United Christian Fellowship Dothan starting May 16th from 10:00 AM through 2:00 PM as well as on the day of the event. Please help us support this worthwhile cause.

Benefit Gospel Sing

Rocky Ridge Baptist Church (4 miles north of Donalsonville, Georgia on Highway 39 North)
There will be a Benefit Gospel Sing held for Caleb Hicks who is having to have extensive therapy for a broken neck brought on by an accident. The event will be held at the Rocky Ridge Baptist Church on Satuday April 5th beginning at 7:00 p.m. Georgia time. The church is located 4 mi. north of Donalsonville, Ga. on hiway 39N Groups singing will be the Mt. Gilead Qt. from Dothan, Al. and the Rocky Ridge Trio. You are urged to attend and participate in the offering as well as enjoy some of the finest in Gospel singing.
