The Battle of Marianna reenactment is part of the annual Caverns Cultural Celebration. This event takes part at Florida Caverns State Park each fall and will feature reenactors from a wide variety of eras, exhibits, animals, entertainment, food and more.

The reenactment is set for Saturday, October 7, at 10 a.m.. It is part of this year's annual Caverns Cultural Celebration, a two-day event that features reenactors from a variety of eras, exhibitors, vendors, food, entertainment, animals and much more. We expect quite a few reenactors this year so it should be a fun and informative event.
How important was the Battle of Marianna?
It was a small but very important battle. The engagement ended the deepest penetration of Florida by Union troops during the entire Civil War. It was the largest battle in the Wiregrass area and ended with the liberation of more than 600 African-American slaves. That was the largest military emancipation in Florida during the Civil War.
