Wiregrass Retired and Senior Volunteer Program 501 N. Foster Street Dothan,Al.,
This event is for individuals and caregivers who are suffering from chronic disease. When facing a chronic illness the most important thing to do are to understand the condition and respond to it by becoming a skilled self-manager on a continuing basis. Stanford University's patient education research center in collaboration with the Northern California Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program developed the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program. The Program has helped thousands of people live a productive healthy life. We invite seniors 55 and over to come and join our workshops to learn about proven tips, helpful suggestions with concrete strategies to deal with chronic illness and live a more fulfilled life. These workshops are sponsored by Wiregrass Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, Southeast Alabama Regional Council on Ageing and The Alabama Department of Senior Services. Each six week workshop is lead by local RSVP members who have been successfully trained to lead The Living Well with Chronic Disease Workshops-Please call to register.
