Old Fashioned Day in the Park

Blue Springs State Park in Blue Springs, AL (on Hwy 10 between Clio and Abbeville)
The Friends of Blue Springs State Park sponsors an Old Fashioned Day in the Park. Visitors will see demonstrations of old crafts such as blacksmithing, chair caning, cotton weaving, syrup making and many more. There will also be several frontiersman/pioneer reenacting groups illustrating activities from the late 18th and early 19th centuries such as Dutch oven cooking, hatchet throwing, flint pistol and rifle usage and more. And young visitors will have the chance to play games from the old days. Concessions will be sold by the Friends with funds going to benefit playground equipment. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for senior citizens and children 6 – 11, and free for those 5 and under.
