Artists are invited to participate in Headland’s new Spring Art & Garden Festival Satur-day, May 17, 10am-3pm.
The event is an expansion of the former Daylily Festival and will feature an art show inside the park of Headland’s beautiful downtown square with farmer’s market and garden-related vendors around the square. Entertainment, children’s art activities and gardening demonstrations are planned. Local daylily growers Bush Gardens II will be at the festival as well as conducting garden tours at 2656 Hwy 134 West.

8 a.m. a 15-mile horse ride starts behind the Community Room
6 p.m. a Talent Show beside the Community Room – $10 entry fee with prizes: 1st prize $100 and a 3-song professional demo recording; 2nd prize $50 and 3rd prize $25 (Food vendors will be serving during the talent show.)

9 a.m. a Parade with Grand Marshals Billy and Ann Hall, Cottonwood HS 1960 graduates

Parade is on Friday, April 25th line up at 4:00 p.m. & parade 4:30 p.m. Ribbon cutting with festival queens at the park directly after parade. Parade will end at park.

Spring FURfest is an outdoor festival featuring antiques and antique appraisals, collectibles, art of various forms, homemade and homegrown goodies, bake sale, face painting, and other unique vendors.
Funded solely by donations, proceeds will benefit FUR (Felines Under Rescue), a TNR (Trap Neuter Return) program which sterilizes community cats in an effort to help control feline overpopulation, as well as helping cat or dog owners pay for their pet’s s/n if they cannot afford it. Operated by volunteers as a 501 c3 non-profit organization, FUR is responsible for sterilizing approximately 1200 cats and 70 dogs last year. FUR has been operating for 10 years in the Wiregrass area.

One of the oldest juried arts and crafts shows in the area, it features original art and crafts by approximately 100 artists, a children’s fun center, food and entertainment.
