July 17th thru September 26th

Wiregrass Museum of Art
This exhibition was organized by the Friends of the Mennello Museum of American Art in Orlando, FL, and it will be traveling to other museums after it leaves Dothan. It is important that it make a stop here because Dale Kennington has spent most of her adult life in Dothan, and this is where she developed her skills as a studio painter. She is one of our most important and well-known local artists, and she has a large group of friends and family members here who have worked very hard and given generously to make this exhibition possible.

As the exhibition title suggests, these paintings depict scenes of everyday life--real lives. Visitors to the exhibition will feel an instant connection with the work because we have all found ourselves in the scenes depicted. Dale paints from photographs in a Realist style, so the work is accessible to everyone.
