Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club Eufaula Chapter 2014 Regional Gathering.
The Eufaula Police Department is proud to assist the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club as the Eufaula Chapter hosts their 2014 regional gathering. The Buffalo Soldiers use motorcycle safety and education to promote the history and legacy of the 9th and 10th Calvary Regiments known as the Buffalo Soldiers. Their goal is to be a positive presence in the community that develops today’s youth and tomorrow’s leaders. The organization also raises money for various charities such as the American Cancer Society and local Boys and Girls Clubs.
An expected 300 or more Buffalo Soldiers motorcyclists will ride in formation through Eufaula on Saturday, October 18th. The Eufaula Police and Barbour County Sheriff’s Office will be escorting them. We encourage everyone to come out and cheer or waive an American flag as they ride by. If you’ve never seen hundreds of motorcycles ride in formation, you don’t want to miss this! The club celebrates a significant American military heritage of multiple Medal of Honor recipients and the defense and building of our nation since 1866. Many of today’s riders are former and active military, law enforcement or public service personnel. Much more information about the Buffalo Soldiers is available on their web site at www.nabsmceufaulaal.org
The ride will start at and exit Lakepoint State Park at 10:00AM on Saturday morning and head north out of town. The riders will re-enter Eufaula across the causeway from Georgia on US Hwy 82 between 11:00 and 11:30AM. The best place to view and cheer will be as they continue west on Hwy 82 (E. Barbour St.) and then turn north on US Hwy 431 (N. Eufaula Ave.) and continue back towards Lakepoint State Park where the ride will end. Traffic restrictions will be minimal and only long enough to permit the motorcycle formation to safely travel through town.
