This fundraiser has been a great success within the southeast through the LBA C.A.R.E.S.
(Caring Associates Ready and Empowered to Serve) program.
A national community service initiative of LBA Hospitality.
The Dothan Education Foundation is excited about the opportunity to partner with LBA Hospitality on this fundraiser to assist in our mission to support public education within our community.

On Wednesday, January 28, 2015, Grandview Elementary School will hold a meeting to discuss Bright Key, a new opportunity presented by Dothan City Schools and the Wiregrass Foundation. Parents and school faculty are encouraged to attend. The initial meeting will define the new concept and gauge feedback on bringing the program to the school.
Only three schools were selected as part of the initial discussion process. The Bright Key concept turns public schools into energized centers for services focused on the whole child, including his/her school, family and community. The program hopes to enhance the education system and create a lasting and effective change in Dothan City Schools.
The meeting will be held at Grandview Elementary School cafeteria and will begin at 5:30 PM.

City of Headland Holiday Open House

Headland will have a city-wide Holiday Open House to launch the holiday season on the Thursday before Thanksgiving, Nov 20, 3:00-8:00pm.

Merchants will stay open late with special sales and holiday treats for people to shop after normal business hours. More businesses will also have customer appreciation/open house activities.

Lighted luminaries will designate participating businesses during the event. Those participating include Polka Dots & Lace, The Old Ice House, Daylight Invites, Diann’s Florist & Gifts, The Gilded Lily, Quilted Creations, K-Time Sports and Apparel, Ashley Parr Photography & Courtly Couture, Peoples South Bank, Headland Insurance, HNB First Bank and WRMZ Radio. The City of Headland Municipal Complex and the Judicial Building will also have open house for the public to tour the newly renovated facilities.

The tree-lighting at the square will be at 6:00pm followed by Headland Elementary School’s Kindergarten’s Holiday Sing at the gazebo.

Santa will arrive in his red sleigh on Grove Street on the downtown square at 3:30pm to visit with children and then will move to Diann’s Florist at 4:30 until 5:30. Strolling carolers will also entertain with Christmas music in front of businesses during the evening.

Another Sundown Cinema at the Square is set for the following night, Friday, Nov. 21 at 6:00pm. “The Polar Express” will be the featured presentation. Popcorn, hot cocoa and drinks will be available. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for this holiday event. This free outdoor movie is sponsored by the City of Headland, Headland Area Chamber of Commerce and Renaissance Headland.

Headland’s Annual Christmas Parade will be Thursday, Dec. 11 at 6:00pm. The theme for this year’s parade is “A Caroling Christmas Parade” and the Parade Marshall is Carol Bedsole.
