Paul Stockman joined WTVY in July 2011. He covers both sports and news and is the first “hybrid” reporter in the station’s history. Paul is fresh out of college having just graduated from Auburn University in May 2011.
Paul was born in Monroe, Alabama where he lived for twelve years before moving to Cumming, Georgia. When the time came, he attended Auburn University where he graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. During his time there, he worked for the student-run TV station, Eagle Eye Television, and also worked for WEGL, the university’s radio station. He was lucky enough to be Eagle Eye’s Sports Director during Auburn’s 2010 National Championship run.
His time at Auburn also included doing radio play-by-play for Auburn’s soccer and softball teams. As Sports Director at Eagle Eye, he created a new weekly sports talk show, “Eagle Eye Sports Live,” and was the producer for that show, one that included a special guest appearance by Auburn assistant coach Trooper Taylor.
Journalism has always been in Paul’s blood. From the time he was a young kid, he loved watching and following sports and began writing blogs and articles in high school. He applied for a job at WTVY in May shortly after graduation, and feels more than blessed to be a part of the WTVY family. During his time off, Paul enjoys golf, attending sporting events, playing video games, spending time with family and friends, and relaxing. Paul is new to the Wiregrass, so if you have any stories or would like to say hey, you can e-mail him at paul@wtvy.com
